About Us

Real Food Direct acts as a vital link in the chain between specialist food producers and the customer. Through just one web site, the customer can access a wide range of high quality delicatessen products and have them delivered to their door for a small carriage charge.

Our goods are generally handmade by a wide range of UK specialist producers from small artisan businesses. By far the vast majority are entirely free of preservatives, additives or artificial flavouring and some are certified as organic by the Soil Association.

Real Food Direct warehouse

History

In the early nineties, Paul Hargreaves started a wholesale distribution business from his former London home, supplying local delicatessens and farm shops with hand made food and drink from the Cotswold region. Now, in 2008, Cotswold Fayre stocks over 1000 wholesale customers with over 1,500 product lines. and the company has now moved warehouses three times to keep up with the rapid growth.

In the late nineties coinciding with the growing internet economy, Real Food Direct was started by Paul - enabling those who don't have good access to a fine food shop to buy their gourmet products on-line via a new mail order web-site. Many of our suppliers web sites link to ours so Real Food Direct can fulfill mail order requirements.
